Fine Jewelry

Our fine jewelry is made from solid 14k gold. Solid gold is a great choice if you're looking for a lifetime piece you can wear everyday and everywhere!

How to care for it?

To care for your fine jewelry and keep its shine, wash with gentle soap and warm water or use a nonabrasive jewelry cleaner specifically designed for gold.  A soft-bristled toothbrush can also help in hard to reach areas. Rinse well and dry fully with a soft, lint free cloth.

14k Gold Vermeil

Gold vermeil jewelry is made from sterling silver and then plated with heavy gold on top. To be considered vermeil, a piece needs to be plated with gold that is at least 10 karats and has a minimum of 2.5 microns of plating.  Our vermeil pieces are 14k gold plated with 3 microns of plating.

How to care for it?

Use lukewarm water and a soft liquid soap, if you need to. Avoid harsh chemicals and detergents when cleaning your gold vermeil. After you finish cleaning your piece, rinse it by using another cloth dipped in plain water. Carefully dry it afterward and place it in your jewelry box, wrapped in a soft cloth.

14k Gold Plated

Our gold plated jewelry is made from brass with a thick gold plate for maximum durability.  Between the brass and gold, we use a copper barrier to keep the two alloys from melding - in turn giving you a longer lasting piece.  Nickel is often a barrier in plated jewelry; however, we prefer to avoid nickel due to allergies and sensitivities - leaving all Minnie Lane jewelry nickel free.

How to care for it?

Do not spray on perfume or other sprays while wearing your gold-plated jewelry. Wait until your lotion or cream is dry or has been absorbed by your skin before you wear your gold plated ring, bracelet or necklace, and avoid long contact with water and sweat.

Clean your plated jewelry with a cotton ball or a very soft cloth to remove any dust and dirt. Gently rubbing the surface of your gold plated jewelry using a soft jewelry cloth, helps restore shine. Do not use a polishing cloth as this will strip away the plating.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is a great option for affordable jewelry that will last a lifetime.  It is incredibly durable making it an ideal choice for everyday wear.

How to care for it?

Add a few drops of liquid dish soap to warm water. Soak jewelry in the solution for 5 to 10 minutes and use a soft-bristle brush, such as a toothbrush, to clean any crevices. After, rinse jewelry in warm water and to dry, gently rub jewelry with a silver cloth or microfiber towel.
